Commonly Asked Questions

Q: When I phone in for a tow, how long will it take?
A: Based on several conditions, we try and reach our customers within a 15-40 minute window. During peak times such as rush hour, those times may be on the longer side while non peak times typically are closer to 20-25 minutes.

Q: I drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Can any towing vehicle service me?
A: Your owners manual typically located in the glove box will outline the correct towing procedure. Most manufactures who produce 4 wheel drive vehicles recommend that they be towed with all 4 wheels off of the ground. This requires a flatbed towing vehicle. Our service fleet contains several towing vehicles of this type allowing us to service all sizes of 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Q: I need to move a fifth wheel travel trailer. Can you do this?
A: Our service fleet is equipped with the necessary safety equipment to handle most towing circumstances. In your case, we do have trucks capable of handling this exact requirement.

Q: Do you bill my towing insurance directly?
A: In some cases we are able to bill your insurance company directly. There are many however that do not allow for this. Within your insurance policy you will find the procedure outlined. Most companies require that towing benefits must be submitted and processed by the named insured. Check with your insurance agent for details.

Q: I have been told that my vehicle has been impounded. How do I get it back?
A: Releasing an impounded vehicle requires that you visit our office with a state issued drivers license that matched the vehicle registration. Additionally you will need to pay any towing/storage fees attached to your vehicle at the time of pickup.

Q: Can I pick a vehicle up for someone who is unable to show up in person?
A: We require proof of ownership which we can validate. This may include a notarized written document allowing us to release the vehicle into someone's care other than the owner.

Q: Can I have a vehicle towed that doesn't belong to me away from my business?
A: There are laws that require certain conditions apply before towing a vehicle which doesn't belong to you. If the vehicle in question is blocking your normal operations and your property is properly posted; then you may have the vehicle towed at the owner's expense. Please note that there are many circumstances that may prohibit you from acting. Please phone our office for additional information.

Q: There is a vehicle parked at my property can I have it removed?
A: In most situations a sign is not required on private residential property and you may have the vehicle towed.

Vehicle Release Procedure

To obtain an impounded vehicle or to release a vehicle for insurance company pick up the following criteria must be adhered to for your protection as well as ours:

  1. The registered owner of the vehicle must be present or a signed, notarized release form or POA document will be needed.
  2. The current registration or title to the vehicle must be presented.  If the vehicle doesn’t have current plates or current registration the title must be presented to show proof of ownership and the vehicle must be towed out.
  3. A valid operator’s license must be presented.  If a license is not available any government issued photo identification will suffice- passport, Stat issued I.D. Card, Military ID.  If the registered owner doesn’t have a driver’s license a licensed driver will need to be present with their license to drive the vehicle off of our lot.
  4. Pay all charges on vehicle.  Cash Mastercard & Visa are accepted.  Note credit card usage could insure a 5% processing charge.  If your insurance company is picking up your vehicle arrangements will need to be made for payment & pick up.
  5. Release times for vehicles are Monday-Friday, 9am to 4pm.  Any vehicles being released after 4pm Monday thru Friday, on the weekends, or on holidays will require after hours release fee.

If the registered owner is not available to pick up the vehicle you may request our Vehicle release Form.  Complete the form in its entirety along with the notary’s signature.  You may hand-deliver the form to our office along with the other items listed above.

A law enforcement agency may have other criteria that must be met before the vehicle can be released.  You will need to contact our office for that information before the vehicle can be released.

For any other type of release- such as repossession or using a power of attorney document, please contact our office at (502) 955-5955.
